An experiment in progress

For your amusement.

Into the Night

‘Tis was June 18 of 2010 when I came across this hauntingly beautiful picture. Immediately I felt the need to write about this unknown girl bravely standing almost at the edge of the cliff. What could her story be?

Thus, the birth of this…whatever it is.

Into the Night

If she cries to the moon,

Will it hear her sorrow?

If her tears dissolve into the night,

Will she be better tomorrow?

The twinkling stars bear witness

The breaking of her fragile heart

She stands on the edge of the cliff

Waiting to melt into the dark

She whispers his beloved name

Hoping the wind would carry away her pain

As she stands there

She hears the wailing of the sea

And as the waves come crashing down

She makes one final wish

She jumps as if flying to escape

She’s in her own arms’ embrace

And she realizes her fate

She is swallowed by the abyss

And falls into the bottomless pit

But before her eternal slumber

She opens her eyes

Looks up to the sky

She smiles a beautiful smile

She remembers those that love her

And as her heart is filled

She closes her eyes

And she bids farewell

She is at peace

As she finds her wish fulfilled

– END –
